Rusty
Ah, Rusty, the wistful 15-year-old lad with memories steeped in simplicity, an orphan and a humble ruby miner, standing at 160 cm with his fair complexion, bright red hair, and gentle brown eyes.

Poor Rusty is so anxious and burdened by the fears that life presents.
His only wish, the precious dream of friendship with Lustre, unfolds against the backdrop of his remarkable discovery of the Heart of Gemotronia.

Lustre
Lustre stands at 180cm, brave and adventurous. Born in Crimson village during the 3rd messis of rot 405, he emerged as a symbol of resilience. Despite being abandoned by his parents—his father, Sapphire, sacrificed himself to protect their family in the Crimson Forest—Lustre’s spirit remains strong.
At 17, he masters spells and explores new terrains while cherishing memories of his father’s love and his bond with his friend, Rusty.
With dark hair and red freckles on sun-kissed skin, Lustre’s appearance reflects his vibrant spirit. His aspirations include global exploration with Rusty and a heartfelt journey to find his lost mother.

Jackie Fletcher
Jackie Fletcher is a 35-year-old lone hunter born and still lives within the Crimson Forest. Standing 170 cm tall, with brown hair and bearded he is deadly with his crossbow. Also skilled at potion brewing and hiding in his forest surroundings. He loves hunting but hates the oppression within the Ruby nation, of which he holds many grudges. His father also died during the first Ruby War.
Jackie longs to leave the Ruby nation to seek the truth of his father's death.

Winston
Winston Fletcher is a 46-year-old potion brewer, whose business is known as The Crimson Chalice. He lives in White Plains Cottage outside the Crimson forest. He is 175cm tall and has blue eyes with grey long hair and a prickly beard. He is the brother of Jackie Fletcher. Born rot: 376 era 3rd gelum, in Crimson village.
He is wise, and knowledgeable, and enjoys reading and recipes. He discovers Lustre in the snow, half frozen, takes him back to his cottage, teaches him about history and tends to his wounds.
Ultimately joins Lustre and Jackie on their journey to the Territorial Ruby Army Preparatory.

Tether
Tether Ironcrest is 24 years old, born rot 398: era: 3rd folia. She is an established brewer of ciders and also a great cook, essential skills as she is the local bartender at Tether’s Tavern in Crimson Village. Poor but beautiful in her white-blue dress, standing only 155cm with eyes of blue, long chocolate brown hair her romantic relationships are shrouded in mystery.

Cranium
A real villain, being a dark, mysterious and skilled swordsman at the age of 60. He was a former Emperor and serving sergeant of Ruby Nation. Born rot: 362 era: 3rd, during the 3rd quintet (nubes), he was raised in the royal ruby village. A war-hungry man who wishes to unite all nations under his form of magic. Tall at 180cm, athletic and slender, he has many distinguishing scars from numerous battles. Someone to avoid.

Rubies & Rivals (Book 2)

Derek
Derek is an older gentleman, a foreign scholar, a brewer, and an understudy of his close friend Winston. He lives in Crimson Village with his wife and two children. He regularly visits his friend Judy, the Royal Librarian in Ruby town. The library was the sole place he could research gemotros and plants, to enhance his brewing techniques. Derek's journals explain the exploits and legend of the Stephador Clan, which also included blueprints for Haley’s planned inventions. Valuable knowledge is supplied to Judy who secretly, and always spreads learnings amongst the libraries of all four nations. This was a secret mantra amongst nations for the society of all librarians.

Haley
Haley Tinkers is a young blond-haired beauty of only 20 rots of age. It's said she embodies the goddess looks of Peroa. She is a leatherworker of grumbler skin, a very smart and knowledgeable girl, and an inventor with an affinity for gears and mechanisms.
Born from a Ruby mother and an Emerald father, she also knows a lot about the gemotros, plants, and recipes that can use the ingredients found in Crimson Forest. She was key to the success of the Stephador Clan.
Always thinking, she has some amazing blueprints for future inventions.
Her thirst for education and inventions was fostered by her father, a cartographer. With her understanding, she holds deep conversations with Derek. She is an impressive beauty.
As a teenager, she helped service the locomotive and fully built the platform clock at the Ruby Mines. Very smart, and beautiful, however she does misinterpret the finale of the Stephador Clan.

Maroon
Emperor Maroon, forty rots of age, is a centre-piece villain of the Ruby Nation. He rules by tyranny, and fear and has little regard for the people. An obsessed man, a boss-baby, a fanatical narcissist who wants to lead the Ruby nation to victory, rule and conquer all of Gemtropolis. He wants to finish what his father Emperor Cranium started, repair the effects of losing the first Ruby war, and the massive restitution taxes enforced by other nations. Holding now the Heart of Gemotronia, he just may have the means to achieve his grand ambitions.

Richard
Richard Rallian is the leader of the small group, known as the Stephador Clan, a man who loves a good cigar. He named his clan after his mother’s stories of the famous Topaz gemotro. A man of only nineteen rots, who lives in the Ruby nation. He was born in rot 403 era: 3rd. He considers himself an outsider as both his parents are from the Topaz nation. His father moved the family to Ruby nation and settled in Banderian Village after he gained special employment for Emperor Maroon.
His father trained him and his younger brother Damian in the arts of Topaz magic. Richard witnesses firsthand the brutal reality of life in the Ruby nation, seeing his mother slain by Ruby guards during a protest in Banderian Village.
He leads the Stephador Clan in a guerrilla-like war against the Ruby Palace. His leadership earned him the title of King Richard, and recorded legend credits him with the discovery of the invisibility potion, known as King Richard’s Wine.
