Gemstone Nations

Late in the third era, Gemotroplis was considered a place of relative peace amongst the four nations. It was once a mythical land of trade, diversity and culture, torn by war a few decades prior. Now each nation sat in discomfort not knowing who to trust.

The nations were named after the individual jewels they worshiped, Sapphire, Topaz, Emerald and the spiteful Ruby. Each nation’s population possess a unique type of magic, based on their gemstone.  Gemotroplis calendar time is based on days, octaves or a 12-day week, rots is a rotation of 480-days. Eight quintets per rot, or months. Each quintet, 60 days is broken in five octaves.  As nations developed independently, each nation may refer to a quintet in their own customary way.

One spot in the very centre point of Gemotroplis is called Ravena, a war-torn graveyard scared from the first Ruby war. It’s a field of fire, basalt and magna surrounding a gigantic volcano, whose eruption occurs every one thousand rots, indicating an end to each Era. This place is infested with horrible man-eating creatures known as Gemotros.  Every nation has unique Gemotros, however the most dangerous dwell in Ravena.
